Leadership Training Empowers Student Leaders to Foster Upright Generation

In a spirit-filled gathering on the 27th of January 2024, the Student Christian Organization of Malawi (SCOM) hosted a transformative leadership training event at Nsanje Secondary School and For Generations Private Secondary School. The event aimed to equip patrons and branch leaders with essential skills and insights to play their roles effectively in shaping an upright generation.

At Nsanje Secondary School, a vibrant assembly of 15 students, including 5 leaders from Dalitso Private, 4 from Chili Chao Academy, and 6 from Nsanje Secondary School, actively participated in the enlightening sessions. Accompanying them were 3 dedicated patrons and 2 committed associates, all eager to contribute to the spiritual growth and development of the student community.

For Generations Private School was blessed with the presence of 25 enthusiastic students, comprising 13 from Tengani CDSS, 9 from Nyankhwale CDSS, and 3 from For Generations Private. The training sessions resonated with the hearts of these future leaders. The event also saw the attendance of 3 patrons and 3 associates, united in their commitment to nurturing a generation grounded in Christian principles.

The training delved into the intricate details of leadership roles, guiding participants on how to align their actions with the overarching goals of SCOM. Emphasis was placed on the importance of developing actionable plans that resonate with the core values of the organization. A significant part of the training involved instructing leaders on the art of crafting monthly reports, which will be submitted through their patrons to the district zone office at the conclusion of each month.

The overarching theme of the training was centered around 'raising an upright generation.' Participants were encouraged to embrace their roles as leaders and influencers, tasked with fostering a community grounded in Christian virtues. The Christian tone infused throughout the sessions resonated deeply, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all those present.

As SCOM continues its mission to shape the future through student leaders, the organization remains committed to empowering the youth to become beacons of light and inspiration in their respective communities. The leadership training event served as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring a renewed sense of purpose among the attendees.
